New post about Morphology linguistik

Hi...sobat blogger!! Howdy?

Beberapa sumber memberikan masing-masing definisi tentang morfologi, yakni:

Contoh: The man looked at the horses
s adalah penanda jamak, tergantung pada kata benda kuda untuk menerima makna
Kuda adalah sebuah kata: dapat terjadi di posisi lain atau berdiri sendiri
Eg:
The horses looked at the man.
- What is the man looking at? -Horses

Complex words: Memiliki struktur internal (terdiri dari dua atau lebih morfem)  eg worker: affix -er added to the root work to form a noun.

Free VS Bound Morfem

Morfem bebas: kata sederhana, terdiri dari satu morfem, mis. Rumah, kantor, tinggi, kursi, bungkus. Itu adalah kata-kata dalam diri mereka sendiri.

Morfem terikat: morfem yang harus dilekatkan pada morfem lain untuk menerima makna.
EG: UNKINDNESS
UN- dan -NESS adalah morfem terikat, membutuhkan root Kind untuk membentuk kata.
Ini juga disebut imbuhan karena melekat pada batang. Ada dua jenis seperti diuraikan di bawah ini:

1. Preffix (Front of the base) = Un-
2. Suffix (end of the base) = -ness

Untuk lebih jelas nya lagi teman-teman bisa melihat dalam pohon morpology dibawah ini:
Pohon morphology menggambarkan struktur internal suatu kata.

Prinsip untuk menentukan morfem

Menurut Ramlan (morfem dapat ditentukan berdasarkan enam prinsip yaitu sebagai berikut:

2. Alomorf

    3. Morpheme is a meaningful unit of language in the form of affixes or words. and morpheme is used as a differentiator of meaning by combining the morpheme with a word that has a lexical meaning which will later produce a new meaning due to the merging of the word.
eg: believe+ affix un = unbelieve

    2. Okay let me help you to answer this question dm.. 😊

Fyi, morphemes can be a word and not a word. Why?
Because there are two types of morphemes, they are free and bound morpheme. Free morpheme can stand alone (verb, noun, or adjective) e.g: work, run, walk, sound and etc. So free morpheme can call as a word.
And the second is bound morpheme. Bound morpheme cant stand alone, so we must add other word to it. Example of bound morpheme is 'affixes' un-, -ly, -able, -a, -anti ant etc.

Hopefully it can help you to understand about morphology del.. 😊

    2. we know that linguistics is very useful for teachers, especially language teachers, linguistic knowledge is very important, ranging from phonological sub-discipline, morphology, syntax, semantics, lexicology, to knowledge of the relationship between language and society and care. How can a language teacher be able to practice skills if he does not master phonology; how can he practice writing (writing) if he does not master spelling, morphology, syntax, semantics, and lexicology. In addition, as a language teacher he not only has to practice his skills, but also must explain the rules of language correctly. Why, for example, do I read, while I hear? He must explain the rule. Not just saying, that's how it is. Between the existing languages and languages there are indeed those who oppose. Active or normative teaching, while linguistics is directly descriptive. So in the hands of teachers who speak the two different languages the understanding can be understood. He will be able to formulate prescriptive rules from descriptive rules, so that they can be accessed properly.

so in fact all branches of linguistics are very important for teachers. not just a branch of morphology. because everything is interconnected with one another.

    1. sorry desi and darma i want to try to answer
      Relationship of Morphology with Phonology
Morphology part of the linguistic study Morphology studies the ins and outs of word forms. While phonology teaches the sounds of language according to their function. The field of morphology that concentrates at the level of the internal structure of words often utilizes the results of phonological studies, for example when explaining the basic morpheme {o'clock} is pronounced varies between [pukUl] and [pUkUl] and pronounced [blow] after obtaining a morphological process with the addition of the suffix morpheme {-an }. In the field of morphology there are morphophonics or morphophonology, namely the event of morphemic changes in a morphological process. The phoneme change extinguished this morphophonemic process can take the form of: (1) phoneme appearance, (2) phoneme release, (3) phoneme melting, (4) phoneme change and (5) phoneme shift.

okay we start from the definition.
Syntax is the part or branch of language that discusses the intricacies of discourse, sentences, clauses and phrases, different from morphology that discusses the forms of words and morphemes.
syntax is like how to make a sentence.
while Morphology is more focused on words and details

Can you give me the example of them ? please explain it to me,thank you darmawan 🤓 keep writing and keep spirit 🌸Salam EsJuCoal

    BalasHapus
  29. 1. LECTICAL MEANING

What is meant by lexical meaning is a meaning that is permanent and not bound by other words (standing alone). Lexical meaning is often called meaning in accordance with the dictionary.

    Example:
    House
    - i.e. a building for a residence
    Eat
    - that is putting something in the mouth

    2. GRAMATICAL MEANING

What is meant by grammatical meaning is the meaning that changes according to the context
the wearer. This happens due to the grammatical processes that occur in the word, such as affixing, repetition, and compounding.

    Example:
    Home
    - have a house
    Houses
    - many houses
    Hospital
    - a house where sick people are treated

From the description above, we can conclude the difference in lexical meaning and grammatical meaning as follows:
    1. The meaning of lexica is the original meaning, while the grammatical meaning is appropriate in context
    2. The lexical meaning is fixed, while the grammatical meaning can change according to the grammatical process that occurs in the word.
    3. The lexical meaning stands alone, while the grammatical meaning is bound to other words that follow it.

    1. Hi.. Hmm i think i wanna try to answer your question.
After search from some sources, the answer is yes..

The pattern of a word not always consist of one prefix-root-suffix. But it can be more than one affixes.
For example: de-nation-al-is(e)-ation. This word consist of 5 morphemes. (prefix-noun-suffix-suffix-suffix)

If you need more example, just search on google with key word "morphology tree". And you will find more words with many morphemes and that explanation.

Hopefully it can help you to understand more about morphology.
      Thank you..

  42. hello dermawan lumban gaol 🙋🙋 how are you? i hope u are always happy and healthy. I want to ask, can you give examples of complex words and simple words. I will wait for your response dermawan 😊

    1. Complex words are defined as basic words combined with derivative elements, such as affixes or suffixes. Ex: live + ly = lively

Simple words are basic forms without adding affixes. Example: live

  48. I have a question for you and i hope you can to answer Is it in morphology we study about word changes? For example, changes in the word "conclusion" to "knot," please explain! . What is your purpose in studying morphology??

    BalasHapus
    Balasan
    1. ok i will answer from the first question first yeah.
my answer is yes. because morphology does study words and the ins and outs of changing the meaning of words. and there also we learn the root word (root) affix (prefix, suffix, or insert) and when the root is added the affix will of course change the meaning of the word itself.

      Hapus
    2. for the next question why I study morphology is of course to increase my knowledge. because it's impossible for us to learn something that isn't useful to us. if you know more about morphology, then you will realize that morphology is always in your environment

      Hapus
  49. I see your material is about Morphology.
    Morphology is about morphemes right?
so I want to ask you what is the difference between morpheme and the word?
please explain as briefly as possible and in simple language

    BalasHapus
    Balasan
    1. Morpheme is the smallest unit of language form which has a relatively stable meaning and cannot be divided into smaller meaningful parts;
while the word is the smallest free unit, or in other words, every single free unit is a word

      Hapus
    2. haii ,, how is it always ..... Because Morphology is a linguistic branch that identifies the basic unit of language as a grammatical unit. I want to ask you, Do you think all prospective educators study Morphology? And what are the benefits of studying morphology? Please explain
      thankyou

      Hapus
  50. Hello Darmawan. This posting is good with information but you don't use any media like power point or video to explain your topics. So it will make the people who reads fell bored.
